One of theAvengersstar's latest films,Honey Don't!had its world premiere at theCannes Film Festivalin France on Friday, May 23, though he was absent from the red carpet. Costars Charlie Day, Aubrey Plaza, Margaret Qualley and more dressed up to debut the movie alongside writer-director Ethan Coen. Evans, 43, explained why he missed the premiere with a messages on his Instagram Stories Sunday, May 25. "I wish I could've been with my incredible cast and filmmakers at Cannes," he wrote, "but it was my mother's 70th birthday and there are some things you just can't miss! Congrats everyone!!" In the same article,Lisa said Evans, who has three siblings, once told her his "biggest fear was losing his anonymity" by taking the Captain America role. She recalled, "He said, 'I have a career now where I can do work I really like. I can walk my dog. Nobody bothers me. Nobody wants to talk to me. I can go wherever I want. A dark comedy,Honey Don't!is about Honey O'Donahue (Qualley), a "small-town private investigator, who delves into a series of strange deaths tied to a mysterious church," according to a synopsis.
