The former HGTV stars celebrated the high school graduation of their daughter Ella, posting rare family footage of the teen over the weekend on Instagram. In the clip, which mom Joanna set to Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," Ella walked across the stage to accept her diploma as her family cheered. The high school grads also got to throw their caps and streamers in the air and were treated to a fireworks display in celebration of the special milestone. Without showing Ella's face, Joanna also shared her daughter's graduation style with pointed red slingback heels and a plaid dress. Ella and Joanna hugged on the high school football field as they took in the special moment. "So very proud," the Magnolia Network founder captioned the special video. The Sunday after graduation, Joanna posted another video of herself in the garden with her youngest son Crew and a family of ducklings. "Fun, busy graduation weekend. So hard to believe we'll have two kids in college this August," she wrote. "I'll be soaking up this season the best I know how—starting with this summer bouquet from the garden. 💚" In addition to Ella, 18, Chip and Joanna are also the parents of sons Drake, 20, Duke, 17, and Crew, 6, as well as daughter Emmie, 15. Their eldest four kids were featured on the couple's hit HGTV series Fixer Upper for years, but since the show ended in 2018, they have kept their kids out of the spotlight. "They're so young and we want togive them the chanceto have a normal childhood," Joanna told PEOPLE of her kids in 2016. In 2019, Joanna shared some insight intoElla's passions with PEOPLE, saying at the time, "Ella is like me. I think she'll follow in my footsteps and have her hand in a lot of things." Ella has previously helped out her mom with her successful home renovation business. Joanna shared that Ella served as a temporary intern for her last summer while she and Chip took some time away from the business to refocus. "One of my favorite moments that was so pivotal for me as a mother, but also as a business owner, was my daughter, my oldest daughter, was in on a lot of these conversations before our break in June, that I was having with the team," Joanna shared on theBusiness of Homepodcast in April. "She was interning with me, so she'd be in these meetings where I was like, 'Y'all, I need vision. Like, we need to get back to why we're doing what we're doing.' And so she was listening and she was interested." Ella even stayed up with her mom late into the night at the office. "She was writing things as I was saying, 'Okay, if we do this, if we do that,' " Joanna recalled at the time. "Proud papa.. #FirstTimeVoter," he captioned a selfie with his eldest daughter, covering her face with the emoji of a blonde girl. Both Chip and Ella sported "I Voted!" stickers to mark the election first. Earlier this month, Chip revealed during an appearance onTodaythat Ella ignored his one rule for her on prom night — to be home by midnight. "She blew past that,"Chip quipped. "But what do you do? What do you do with this 18-year-old human that is now legally an adult? She could serve in the army if she had to, and here I am explaining that she has to be back at 12 o'clock."
