Getty Patience Snow recounted a dating horror story on TikTok She hit things off with a woman she met online, but quickly started to notice some red flags Snow later learned that the woman created a fake profile and was impersonating her online You never know who you're going to meet online.Patience Snowwas excited when a beautiful woman slid into her DMs and expressed interest. They lived in different states, but that didn't stop the two from connecting. They began talking and realized that they had a lot in common. They shared the same favorite movies, books and poems, leading Snow to believe she may have found her match. However, Snow began noticing a few red flags right off the bat. Whenever she posted a photo on social media, the woman would share an eerily similar picture in the same pose just a few hours later. Despite initially dismissing the strange behavior, alarm bells started going off when Snow noticed the woman posted a photo with her "exact tattoos drawn onto her body." When confronted, the woman told Snow that she simply "loved" her ink and was thinking about getting something "similar" but wanted to "try them out" first. Around the same time, Snow started to notice inconsistencies in her partner's story. The woman had told Snow that she lived alone, only to later find out she lived with her mom. When Snow tried to ask questions, the woman would deflect or try to get off the phone quickly. Regardless, Snow still gave her the benefit of the doubt — until it became too much to sweep under the rug. Things took a turn for the worse when another woman reached out to Snow, claiming they had been talking for weeks. The woman, nicknamed "Bug," shared screenshots of alleged conversations she had with the influencer, but it was from an account impersonating Snow. Snow told "Bug" that the account was not hers and then asked for more information about their correspondence. She realized the fake account had also been sending the woman personal and private photos of her. Bug then sent Snow a screenshot of the account she had been talking to, which had a similar username to Snow's real profile and featured a photo of her as the profile picture. The fake page notably had several mutual followers with Snow's account, including friends of hers and people she worked with. However, when she looked up the profile, both her main account and private account, which only her partner knew about, were blocked. After connecting the dots, Snow realized that the girl she had been talking to for months had set up a fake Instagram profile impersonating her and was messaging other women on the account. Her partner had also sent around lewd photos of Snow, which the influencer had shared with her — and only her. To verify her suspicions, Snow tried logging into the fake profile and her partner's profile. She then realized they were both linked to the same recovery email, which belonged to her partner. This confirmed that the woman she was dating did, in fact, make a fake profile pretending to be her. When she confronted her, the woman initially denied the whole thing before eventually confessing. "I was hurt, betrayed, nervous," Snow said on TikTok. "I thought we were getting along so well. The reason was because she was being me. We got along so well because she was... me."
